Ron Gant began his major league career with the Braves in 1983. In 1991, he became the third player in history to have back-to-back 30-30 seasons (30 home runs - 30 stolen bases). Gant was also among the league leaders in homeruns, doubles, RBIs, runs and stolen bases, leading the Braves to the World Series just one season after having baseball's worst record. Gant was named among the top ten National League Most Valuable Players in 1991 while with the Braves, and in 1995 with the Cincinnati Reds. While with the Reds, he earned an All-Star selection, as well as NL Comeback Player of the Year honors from The Sporting News. In addition to the Braves and Reds, Gant played for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Anaheim Angels, the Colorado Rockies, the Oakland Athletics and the San Diego Padres during his nineteen-year career.
